Monroe County - Missing 87 year old male in Stroud Township

VSAR was requested by Northeast SAR to assist in the search for an 87 year old man, known to be missing from his Stroud Township, Monroe County home since Thursday, February 22, 2012. 9 VSAR resources responded with 2 VSAR K9s and Razor ATV. 5 additional resouces where in second operational period reserve.

 

Stroud Township man missing; car found in North Carolina

Stroud Area Regional Police are searching for an 87-year-old Stroud Township man whose car was located in North Carolina Saturday.

Joseph J. Devivo, 87, was last seen by family members on Thursday at 8 p.m. at his home off of Business Route 209.

Family members notified Stroud Area Regional Police on Saturday that Devivo was missing. Within hours of the initial missing persons report, Devivo's Chevrolet Malibu was located in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg area in North Carolina.

Police said an individual operating the vehicle had some of Devivo's personal belongings with him.

Police did not identify the operator of the vehicle.

Anyone who has seen or has any information regarding Devivo should contact the Stroud Area Regional Police Department/Detective Richard Wolbert or call 911 and ask for any on-duty police officer.

In particular, police are interested in anyone who might have seen Devivo after 8 p.m. Thursday, and if he was accompanied by any other persons.
Devivo is Caucasian with green eyes, 5 feet five inches tall and weighs 140 lbs.
